About Wendy
I was born in Kamloops, BC and grew up on the North Shore of Shuswap Lake. My heritage is Secwepemc (Shuswap) from my Dad’s side and I attribute my artistic abilities to that heritage. I am a self-taught artist who enjoys the process of creation, no matter what the medium. I love to work in acrylic paint, beads, jewelry-making, clay, food, WHY! I grew up in a backwater community with no friends nearby so it was me and my dog for the most part with the cedar forest, the river, the swamp and the lake for my playground. I feel truly blessed to have grown up where I did and it is that close connection with Mother Nature along with being solitary that fostered my imagination. I am happy to say I will never live long enough to create everything I envision in my head. I enjoy acrylic painting and my first love will always be Beadwork. Most of my pieces are one-of-a-kind and what I create is based on what materials I have on hand. I create on a daily basis whether it’s beading, painting or crocheting or maybe even trying something new!
